From Foxtrot to Viral Hits: Dance the Last 100 Years With the History Center of Olmsted County

Sunday, February 8
11 am - 1 pm

  • Dance Lesson at the Chateau: February 8, 2026

  • Weekly Dance Lessons at History Center of Olmsted County: February 15 - April 19, 2026

  • Grand Dance Celebration: April 25, 2026

In cooperation with USA Dance, the History Center invites the community to a special centennial celebration on the dance floor. Join us for a fun and welcoming series of weekly dance lessons inspired by styles from across the last century.

Experience the elegance of 1920s foxtrot, swing into the energetic rhythms of 1940s East Coast swing, and groove along with the playful viral dances of the 2020s—with many decades in between.

Each class is designed for all skill levels. No prior dance experience and no partner are required. Lessons are taught by local professional dance instructors.

All lessons lead to a Grand Dance Celebration at the Historic Chateau Theatre on April 25, 2026, bringing together a full century of music, movement, and community in one unforgettable event.
